October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Men don’t think this doesn’t matter to you as the third week of October has become “Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week” since 2009. So think PINK and help anyway you can, be it supporting research or helping a friend or love one.
Also Halloween is coming up and I have a few suggestions. Now all of us here at the dental office love chocolate and sweets that so many others say are bad for you. So we don’t want to come off all high and mighty and tell our patients not to enjoy the delicious treats available this time of year. But moderation and a little common sense will keep you out of trouble. Remember every time you put food in your mouth it takes 30 minutes to neutralize the acid produced by the bacteria. So if you want some fine just don’t snack on it all throughout the day. Parents, let your children have some candy as a treat but don’t let them eat uncontrollable. Next remember the stickier the candy the worse it is for your teeth. Finally if you can’t brush your teeth afterwards at least get a drink of water. That way all the pearly whites can get a bath!
